New Website- and New Paintings!

I have created a new website!! This came out of an error that was made by my web hosting company for  They took my site down because they "thought" it was wordpress and I hadn't updated the version, however it was not.  So instead of dealing with the crazy nonsense, I just ordered a new domain and built a new website. And then they realized the error and reinstated!  LOL

Check it out and let me know what you think

Now I just have to get it to show up in Google search.

Now onto new paintings!  It's been a while since I've posted any new paintings. Probably because no one really reads my blog. LOL

I participated in a 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge in January 2016.  I made it to 28 paintings in 30 days.  I decided to do all landscapes. So I started with these:

And then I decided that my heart just wasn't into landscapes. So I switched to "intuitive" paintings, following along with my "Year of Painting" course that I'm taking by Alena Hennessy. Here are some of them:

And then, I went back to animals! LOL  Here are some of them:

That is the highlight of the challenge!  I learned to paint a little faster and to just go for it. I will definitely do this challenge again. Thanks for looking and don't forget to check out my new webiste:!

New Intuitive Paintings

So, I'm not sure where my earlier posts went, but I know I posted within the past month!  We moved to a smaller house in June, so I took June, July, August and September to settle in, paint my kitchen cabinets, work with renovators and enjoy our boat at the lake!!

We did a little traveling, got one of my daughters moved to Athens, GA and off to school.  My art studio is still a mess-- we are waiting for drywall to go up and then I can set it up the way I want it! Meanwhile, I reworked two pieces and finished two new ones.  Here they are.  I hope you enjoy. They are for sale in my Etsy store. Search Carol Iyer. Thanks for looking!

Fishy Fishes 36" x 36"  (I have a hard time letting go of yummy detail)

"Earth Laughs in Flowers"  36"x36" (reworked the bottom half of this one)

"Stepping up to the Journey"  36" x 36"  (reworked the orange flowers in foreground)

 "Bird Party"  36" x 36"

New Dog Painting -- Neela Boston Terrier

Every now and then I get into the mood to paint a dog, and when a friend or relative begs me, well, I just have to!!  This is "Neela", a sweet Boston terrier dog that actually lives in Boston.   I photographed it on the floor so you can see that it's on a very large canvas, so should make a pretty big statement on the wall.

I used a stencil to make the wood grain on the floor and then touched up with my paint brush.  That was the fun part of this painting for me!   We are moving to another house in 3 weeks, so I will probably need to pack up my art supplies.  After I get settled, I'm going to paint a Lake series and then I want to commit to painting 100 paintings!!  It is supposed to help you really hone in on your style.  I got the dogs down, now on to bigger and better things!!  My next post won't be until June.
Ta Ta for now!!

New Dog Painting-- Australian Shepherd

I rarely accept commissions because it stifles my art flow!! Seriously-- I won't do anything else until I get it done and I procrastinate like crazy.  So I really have to be in the mood to paint a dog to accept a commission!  Fussy, eh??

I've analyzed why this is so and I have come to this conclusion:  It's just not creative enough for me.  It's all very technical.  Here is a picture; now go paint it -- I want it to look just like my pet.  Not much room for fun interpretation at all.  But I do enjoy the end result and making someone happy. :)

Anyway, here is one that I did recently.  It's 16"x20" in acrylic.  "Dempsey" is an Australian Shepherd.

I have one more commission that I've accepted, a Boston Terrier on a large canvas.  I had the flu last week and it's just sitting there waiting for me to get busy with it!!  I'll post it as soon as I get around to finishing it. LOL

New Commission Finished!

I recently accepted a commission for a landscape scene and just finished it yesterday.  I was given a photo that was taken in La Jolla, California.  This couple just got engaged.  It's a large 24"x40".

Here is the photo that I worked from:

In other news, we got our hardwood floors refinished and I am in love with them!! Too bad we are putting this house back on the market in a week. So I will be busy cleaning for the next week.  I have two other paintings close to finishing and hopefully will have them done in the next two weeks.  Thanks for looking!

A fun abstract!

I was doing my normal intuitive painting technique thing and I found myself loving this chaos.  So I'm leaving it just the way it is!  I was going to paint over it and bring out some kind of figure, but I don't think it needs one.  It has a lot of interesting parts to it-- much better to look at in person.  I used gold paint, brown, green, yellow and black.  Just a touch of turquoise is mixed in.  Let me know what you think!

A couple of new abstract-like landscapes

This first one is large 40x60, I think.  My daughter loves it, so it's in her room.

This other one is a sunset on stretched canvas:  30"x40" Acrylic. Not sure what to call it. Sunset? HA

Now I'm working on a Klimt painting with my one of my daughter's faces in it.  And also painting over an old chaotic painting.  Not sure it's going to be any less chaotic though!!  Have a great weekend. :)
